Lydmila Rashtanova, a Ukrainian artist. Born in Kyiv in 1981. In 2006, she graduated from the graphic department of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (workshop led by Professor A.V. Chebykin). Since 2004 she has been a Member of the Association of Young Artists and Art Critics of the National Artists Union and a participant of republican exhibitions of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. ‘I work in the field of easel graphics, easel painting, stained glass techniques and mosaics’.
Lydmila Rashtanova comes from two generations of artists in her family. The grandfather worked at a military factory for the construction of Lenin Forge ships. He brought home the working drawings, turned them over and painted cruisers on the back. Her mother became an artist and still works in present. Lydmila Rashtaova has studied painting since she was 9 years old. After graduating from National Academy of Fine Arts, Kyiv, she worked in stained glass studio. Rashtanova has an accuracy, meticulousness and extravagance throughout the creation of all her pieces.
