‘Roses’ depicts a bush of pale pink roses, sprouting from all directions. A cool light shines on them from above, giving them a romantic appearance. The roses that appear closest are detailed and full of shadow, whilst those further behind seem to fade away. The bush is made up mostly of a cool turquoise colour, with flecks of bright green leaves scattered around. Potapenkov uses a pallet of cooler colours, giving the illusion of moonlight lighting up this rose bush in a beautiful and romantic way.
