Artem Andreichuk
Artem Andreichuk was born on the 11th of May 1983 in Kiev. As a young boy, Andreichuk laid in his bedroom and admired the walls that his father had painted on, making the painted heroine, Cinderella by Walt Disney, his first introduction to art. In primary school, his first art teacher often suggested to his mother that Andeichuk should attend an art school, as his talent was already clear from his childhood. He first ‘sold’ an art piece when he was 6 years old, when a classmate asked for a picture of a Rambo and then ‘paid’ him with Turbo gum wrappers, something which was considered very precious by children living in Soviet times. Artem attended an art prep school for two years and then went to a prestigious art middle school in Kiev. His art school was very traditional, and he was made to spend a lot of time on tedious assignments which inhibited him from any creative expression. He was far more interested in the bright and colourful images of the Western world, with French impressionists being his main inspiration. Since then, he has become a successful artist, whose work is bought by collectors that appreciate the colourful and expressive pieces that he creates.
