Anna Moskalets

Svitanok—Ukrainian for “dawn”—unfolds at the fragile threshold between darkness and light. Against a gathering sky, a solitary figure in a traditional embroidered garment stands with face concealed, while white doves rise through the storm clouds: emblems of peace, spirit, and the first breath of a new day.
Rendered in oil on canvas, Moskalets contrasts a near-monochrome landscape with the vivid red geometry of the vyshyvanka. The work holds both mourning and endurance, suggesting that identity can remain luminous even when the horizon is uncertain.
